Our last event of 2014 involved a joint event between the Nat and members of the Bacup THI Communication & Engagement Group.  Visitors to the Nat were invited to travel back in time and experience with us a 1914 Christmas. We were inundated with guests from the minute the doors opened at 10am to well after 3 when we finally had to close the doors.  Visitors were able to sample traditional foods, drink and sweets and enjoy the sights and smells of a 1914 Christmas which in Bacup was called the “Khaki Christmas”.  With games and prizes galore to be won and our fantastic new Fern Hill Hospital diorama the event was a resounding success and has left us all looking forward to the Nat’s own events in 2015 “ Meet the Tommy” and “ Meet the Nurse” as well as other joint events with the THI Engagement group :)
