On Thursday 17th November we were very happy to provide refreshments for members of the public who had taken part in Bacup’s first ever  Owd Bacup Crime Walk. The walk had been produced and carried out by our local community police officer P.C.Neil Gregson a very big well done from the Bacup Natural History Committee.

Fern Hill Hospital Project

Our main news and project for 2014 was the creation of a diroma representing number 1 ward at Fern Hill Hospital, Stacksteads. Funded by winning  a Heritage Lottery bid for which we recived the fantastic news in July.

17th Septemeber 2014  Whilst no photographs of the interior of Fern Hill exist we do have photographs of other houses in the area and we do have a description of the layour of the hospital. Our diorama will recreate no 1 ward which we are setting as being housed in the drawing room of the house.
26th September Although members of the Committee had planned to take part in the McMillan Coffee Morning we sadly had to cancel due to the ill health of two members. Not wanting to let McMillan down we held a book sale which with donations raised a total of £52.50
