HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT THE BACUP NATURAL HISTORY SOCIETY  As with all businesses and charities facing an uncertain future due to the huge rise in utility costs, we need our supporters now  more than ever to ensure our continued survival  and your donations and support really do make a difference. Your donations ensure we can continue to care for our collections, run exhibitions and events, and provide school visits and family activities. Please don’t just see us as somewhere to donate great aunt Nellie’s old teapot or a place where  forgotten objects reside. The NAT’s collections which have been gathered together since 1878  provide an invaluable, comprehensive  insight into Bacup’s past, how our Bacupian ancestors worked, rested  and played. Although we have previously applied and been successful in receiving small grants from the Bacup and Stacksteads Community Forum, we receive no regular funding from Rossendale Borough Council or Lancashire County Council; and although we have previously applied for one off project funding from local and national grant-giving bodies such as the National Lottery Heritage Fund this has not been possible over the last four years. By supporting us through an annual membership, one-off donation, regular giving through one of our  patron and friends schemes, or by becoming a sponsor or volunteer, you will help to secure the future of this eclectic and unique Bacup treasure.

There are several ways you can leave money to the museum in your will: • A pecuniary gift: a fixed sum of money decided by you. • A residuary gift: the amount of the whole or portion of your estate after other legacies, inheritance tax and expenses have been paid. • A specific gift: a bequest of specific personal possessions. • In-memory donations in lieu of flowers or via collections in support of the Bacup Natural History Society are also another option.
